    WELCOME TO OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL

Announcing the 1st private Montessori Middle School in Oakland County: A program tailored to adolescents 12 - 14 years old / 7th - 8th grade.

    WHY choose MONTESSORI MIDDLE SCHOOL?

Learning outcomes that go beyond the Common Core: Academic work applied to real-life. Building a micro-economy. Learning for life.

    The Adolescent Community

    MIDDLE SCHOOL

    12 - 14 years old / 7th – 8th grade

Our authentic Montessori middle school school program is tailored to the unique learning needs of adolescents. Yearning both independence and deeper social connections with peers, adolescents are driven to explore society and find their place in the world. As critical thinkers they persistently question the applicability of what they learn.

    PROJECT BASED LEARNING

    COLLABORATE; DON'T SEPARATE

    STUDENT-LED MICROECONOMY

Respecting these adolescent developmental demands, our Montessori middle school pairs rigorous academics with project work based in real-life and structure study in a social setting. Through Project Based Learning, our students experience the applied purpose of math, science, humanities and language in their real-life projects, connecting their learning to the adult-world they are entering.

    STUDENT-LED MICROECONOMY

    COLLABORATE; DON'T SEPARATE

    STUDENT-LED MICROECONOMY

The various projects culminate in a vibrant, student led micro economy. Engineering, building, sculpting, growing, harvesting, sales and marketing, public speaking, physical activities, designing and budgeting are natural areas of work each student contributes to their microcosm, student community.

    COLLABORATE; DON'T SEPARATE

    COLLABORATE; DON'T SEPARATE

Across the curriculum, students participate in group presentations and are encouraged to debate, defend, share, assert, converse, and challenge the presented content. The expectation is to “collaborate; don’t separate”. Students practice acceptance and equity, sharing responsibility and accountability.

Our Montessori middle school challenges the norms of traditional education to set students on their own confident path towards economic independence, equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to participate in and transform society as the adult they are growing into.
